CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION MA PROGRAM

 

Academic Unit: Department of Educational Sciences

Program Objectives:

The aim of this program is to train future educators who;

  • have the key skills and knowledge about education programs and teaching,
  • know and apply the ethical rules of the profession,
  • follow the developments in their profession,
  • know the scientific research techniques for conducting scientific research.

Graduation Requirements:

In order to graduate from the program, students are required;

  • to take at least 7 courses (21 local credits/ 120 ECTS), two of which are required by the department
  • to pass the “Seminar” and “Research Methods and Scientific Ethics” courses,
  • to pass all courses with at least CB grade and have at least 2.50/4.0 GPA,
  • to comply with the publication requirement,
  • to register to “Lecture on Specialized Field” and “MA Thesis” courses in order to write a thesis, after completing the required number of credits,
  • to pass the MA thesis defense successfully.

 

Publication Requirement:

MA students are required to meet at least one of the following requirements which has to be related to their thesis and done in cooperation with their thesis supervisor(s):

  1. An oral/ poster presentation at a national/ international refereed academic congress
  2. An academic article published or accepted for publication at a national/ international refereed academic journal
